"We should compare that to the amount of Afghan civilians killed in Baghdad for the same year."
"Why would we do that?"
"It's the capital of Afghanistan."
"No it's not."
"I'm pretty sure that it is."
"No, it's not. The capital is Kabul."
While this diatribe is going on between the professor and this shithead, I'm laughing hysterically.
Here's a great article on why shit like this is gradually causing a schism between veterans and everyone else.
How about the professor that told me he believe's that veterans are given too much assistance for college. Why should someone that volunteered to be a professional killer be given an essentially free college education? He went on to tell me all the horrible indignities and hard work he had to endure to make it through college, and then posed the question again. Why should I get a free education for doing something so loathsome as joining the Army?
ReplyDeleteI didn't bother to answer, but I did inform him that not only was my education completely free, not essentially free. I also receive BAH in the amount of $1689 per month. So get it right professor, I get PAID to go to college.
Just makes you wonder some times...
ReplyDeleteI have to ask, was it the shit head or the professor who didn't know where Baghdad was?
Now I realize how bad it is... I'm actually not sure the professor knew WOW
The shithead.
ReplyDeleteThe professor wears sandals with socks and rides a moped 30 miles to campus, but he knows his stuff about math and about the world.
I have had the following conversation way too many times to count over the past few years:
ReplyDeleteMe: "my friends have been/are currently in/are going to Afghanistan."
Other person: "Wait. Why did we go there, again?"
Granted, I live in an area of the country that blanket-protests any kind of [overseas contingency operation]. I'm all for freedom of speech and expression...but at least have the decency to know what and/or why you *are* protesting. *headsmack*
